When the light finally dies and we look to the sky We will finally know why they call the dawn, morning And I wish we’d said goodbye

When the light finally dies and we look to the sky
We will finally know why they call the dawn, morning
And I wish we’d said goodbye

All the lines around your eyes,
show the battles deep inside you.
They are no match for me
and what I wouldn’t do,
to wear your heavy boots.

For her second effort, Nicole Atkins has laced up her big-girl boots.  I greatly enjoyed her first album.  It featured Nicole’s soaring and majestic vocals over string arrangements and a band that would otherwise drown out a more subdued voice. It was simple, pretty pop.

You can already preview the sum of tracks on her new LP "Mondo Amore" via itunes, prior to it’s release next month.  The lead track “Vultures” is dark, sultry and punched with rocker-chick-gospel vibes. It’s good.  Give a listen to the second track “Cry, Cry, Cry”.  I can say with certainty - I’ll be blasting this in my car, on many a drive home.  Nice work Miss. Atkins.
